We have been trying to properly communicate the visual way all the way from prehistoric days. Fast forward to today's reality still shows a lack of proper manners in communication: being simple, easy to understand, quick and effective in conveying the message.
There are very few people who haven't had a hard time to decode single icon in some given environment: be it in ad, on some sign or even in user interface of newest gadget or software application.
Stop giving headaches to your clients, partners, users and peers by making them try to decode your visual code. Sadly, in most cases their decoding abilities are 'not good enough' to get even close to the message you're trying to convey!

What is Pictoico?
What you see here is just a start, a minor fraction of what Pictoico visual initiative really is about.
I have launched this visual initiative with a goal to define uniform, globally accepted, contemporary yet modern, unique yet highly recognizable symbol style.
Once style is defined, my intention is to establish a solid base of at least 1.000 main symbols, regularly updated and released to public as number of symbols grows during 2010. Symbols will cover various aspects and thematics: from business, finance, health, tourism and transportation to sports, actions, religions, animals, even political divisions and other everyday life elements; basically covering every single aspect and thematic we encounter in our everyday life.
An image is worth a thousand words: yet, a simple, understandable symbol is worth even more!
Along with the symbol development, I will regularly publish articles on visual initiative, development progress, advices, tutorials and even screencasts through blog. Through publicly open and widely spread communication channels we will be able to communicate in order to steer actions the right way.
I need your assistance to establish and develop this initiative. I am sure it will be a great, wonderful and everlasting journey.
